Through Delivering Hope, students at Sharon Community School will receive a backpack full of child friendly accessible foods to take home on the weekends and over extended breaks.

We know that weekends and extended school breaks are the most vulnerable time for students who may go home to empty cupboards and refrigerators, making child hunger, anxiety, and difficulty in school a painful reality.  We want to serve our community in helping to alleviate that problem.

Goals of the program

To Provide a Connection to the Community: Emmanuel is connected to a local school where students who are at risk of going hungry on the weekend will get fed.  We also hope to continue to develop a relationship with school staff and administration.

Reach the whole community: Emmanuel wants to not only help feeding kids, but also build relationships naturally with those who want to provide backpacks of food for hungry students but may not otherwise step foot inside a church.  This ministry is open to anyone who wants to help.  Its not just for Emmanuel's members to participate in all it takes in providing bags of food.

Develops Disciples: Delivering Hope provides a simple way to model being the hands of Jesus on a regular basis. Feeding students is a tangible way to demonstrate how to live as Jesus lived.

Engages All Ages and Abilities: Through this ministry, Emmanuel welcomes people of all ages and abilities to participate – it is a creative way to build multi-generational connections.

Changes Lives: Feeding students at risk of going hungry is encouraging to everyone involved – it builds faith, hope, and love!

Keeps us on Mission: Feeding and praying for hungry students helps build a culture within the church of being on an intentional mission to love God and your neighbor.

Powerful Prayer: When we pray and believe, God shows up in big ways. Witness Him move in amazing ways as you feed, love, and pray for students, and experience His hand of blessing as He multiplies food
